KOCHI: A national seminar on ‘Recent Advances in Post-Harvest Fisheries Engineering’ jointly organised by ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT) and Society of Fisheries Technologies (India) (SOFT(I)) will be held at CIFT here on Saturday.Director of Fisheries Venkatesapathy will inaugurate the seminar and CIFT director C N Ravishankar will preside over the inaugural session.
Experts from Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, Nagapattinam; NIT Kozhikode; National Diary Research Institute, Bengaluru; Data Matrix InfoTech Ltd, Pune, and CIFT will present papers and facilitate deliberations. ‘’This seminar is envisaged to highlight the latest developments and requirements of seafood industries and fisherman in drying techniques, advanced sensors, instruments, electronic gadgets and equipment for fish handling, processing, preservation and quality assessment,’’ said the organisers.
