Hero MotoCorp Limited Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Pawan Munjal is the type who is more comfortable on the shop floor than at the launch of his latest motorbike at a auto show. The shy Munjal is responsible for day to day management of the affairs of the company.
Munjal also serves as works executive of Majestic Auto Ltd and also as a member of executive board at Indian School of Business. The mechanical engineering graduate has been an executive director of Hero MotoCorp Ltd since April 1, 1986 and serves as a non-executive director of Hero Honda Finlease Ltd. He serves as a member of the Board of Governors at Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
An avid golfer, Munjal is past chairman of the Asian PGA Tour Board of Directors and the past president of Professional Golfers Association of India. Under his guidance, Hero MotoCorp launched the Hero Indian Sports Academy in collaboration with Laureus Foundation to provide equal opportunities in sports to various communities and to reward talent in the country.
