Rahul Gandhi Can't Speak for Even Two Minutes Sans a Note: Smriti Irani

ANI

AMETHI:  Taking a jibe at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over his ‘suit boot ki sarkar’ remark, Union Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani on Sunday said that the former couldn’t speak for even two minutes in the Parliament sans a note.

“Suit boot ki sarkar 1:30 minute’s byte is easier than 1:30 hrs speech in the Parliament,” Irani recalled her earlier statement, saying that she was right about it.

“Even for the two minutes’ address, which he (Rahul) made in the Parliament, he brought a note,” she added.

During a Parliament session in April, Gandhi launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, "Your government is not listening to farmers. It is a government of industrialists. Aapki suit boot ki sarkar hai."

The snide remark was a reference to the fancy suit the Prime Minister wore, with his name on it, during U.S. President Barack Obama's India visit.
