KOLKATA: The Enforcement Directorate has questioned West Bengal BJP leader Shishir Bajoria in connection with the investigation into investments in offshore firms, as revealed in the Panama Papers expose.

Bajoria was yesterday questioned by the Directorate's officials in Kolkata.

"We had questioned him yesterday regarding his investments in offshore firms," a senior ED official said.

When contacted Bajoria said, "I was questioned yesterday regarding my investments abroad. I had fully cooperated with the ED officials. All my overseas investment are through the normal banking channels under RBI rules and permission,".

Bajoria said that ED interrogating him proves that for Prime Minister Narendra Modi government all are at par irrespective of their party affiliations.

In April last year, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalism published the Panama Papers exposing tax evasion by the world's elite through off-shore accounts and shell companies.
