Miraculous escape for 45 passengers after bus engine catches fire

As the bus was taking a steap curve at around 1 pm, the engine caught fire and huge smoke emanated from it.

TIRUPATI: It was a miraculous escape for 45 passengers, when a bus in which they were travelling from Tirumala to Tirupati caught fire at the middle of the ghat road at 1.15 PM on Sunday.

There were sudden flames in the engine of Sapthagiri Express Bus, which was running between Tirumala and Tirupati. An alert driver stopped the bus and advised the passengers to disembark immediately and stand at a distance. After sometime, the fire was controlled. The driver sent the passengers in other buses to Tirupati.

Tirumala traffic police said that no one was hurt in the incident. The bus was stopped at the ghat road for repairs. The incident occurred at the ninth turning between Tirumala and Tirupati. There were flames in the back wheel brake linings and the back wheel tyre also burnt slightly.
