Rahul Gandhi accuses Finance Minister Arun Jaitley of lying, seeks to know Rafale's purchase price

Jaitley had on Thursday slammed the Congress for manufacturing corruption charges against the government in questioning the deal to purchase Rafale fighter jets from France.

NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi, facing a breach of privilege notice for allegedly twisting Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s name, again slammed him over the Rafale deal.

“Dear Mr Jaitlie, You said the UPA never released prices of Defence purchases? To nail your lie, here are 3 Parliamentary replies by the UPA with full transparency on pricing. Now do ask our Raksha Mantri to tell India how much each RAFALE jet cost,” Rahul tweeted.

On Thursday, Jaitley accused the Congress of compromising national security by asking for price details of Rafale. Earlier, BJP Rajya Sabh member Bhupender Yadav had alleged a breach of privilege by Rahul over his tweet: “Dear Mr Jaitlie—thank you for reminding India that our PM never means what he says or says what he means. #BJPLies.”
