Kashmir: Security forces resume Cordon and Search Operation after Ramazan ceasefire ends

SRINAGAR: Security forces resumed Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on Monday in Kashmir valley after month-long suspension of counter militancy operation during holy month of Ramazan.

The Union Home Ministry announced on Sunday to resume the CASO in the valley following surge in militancy attacks during the 'ceasefire' period.

Official sources said that security forces on a tip off conducted search operation at Bijbehara in south Kashmir district of Anantnag on Monday.

After sealing all exit points, security forces later conducted house to house searches.

However, no one was arrested, they said, adding later the operation was called off.
