SAMBALPUR:A lady teacher of Sikirdi Project Upper Primary School in Dhankauda Block here was suspended after a video showing a girl student massaging her forehead went viral on Tuesday.
District Education Officer (DEO), Sambalpur Pramod Panda said the teacher, Bharati Meher, was suspended after the video came to his notice. Bharati, who is also the in-charge headmistress of the school, admitted that a girl student had given her a massage on forehead as she had severe headache. However, the incident had taken place about two years back. The girl, who massaged the teacher’s forehead, has since passed out of the school.
Bharati said she was sitting in the office room of the school when the girl, then a student of Class VIII, came to her and offered to massage her head after coming to know about her headache.
The video has been circulated after two years, she said and added that someone had recorded the whole incident with an ill-intention and circulated it two years later.
