Kochi, Dec 3 (PTI) A patented Japanese world-classtechnology was today introduced here for cleaning up a highlypolluted canal flowing through the heart of the city.

  A "demo project" to restore the Perandur Canal waslaunched by private firm NeST Group with the support of theKochi Corporation.

Kochi Mayor Soumini Jain inaugurated the cleaning of thedemo stretch of approximately one KM, a release said.

“The trend setting water purification system utilisesmicro-bubble technology to restore impure water in waterbodies," it said.

Vice Chairman and MD of NeST Group N Jehangir said thetechnology was already in use in Japan, China and severalother countries. PTI TGBVS.
