Los Angeles, Jan 2 (PTI) Singer Carrie Underwood has saidthat she received over 40 stitches in her face after fallingon the steps of her house in November.
The 34-year-old singer had earlier said that she hadbroken her wrist after the fall.
In a post to her fan club members, the singer revealedthat the incident also caused severe cuts to her face,reported Entertainment Tonight.
"There is also another part of the story that I haven'tbeen ready to talk about since I have still been living it andthere has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up.
It's crazy how a freak random accident can change your life,"wrote Underwood.
"In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed toinjure my face as well. I'll spare you the gruesome details,but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, thedoctor told Mike (Underwood's husband) that he had put between40 and 50 stitches in," she added.
The singer said the accident left her unable to performat the Country Rising benefit show held at NashvilleÂ’sBridgestone Arena.
"I honestly don't know how things are going to end up butI do know this: I am grateful. I am grateful that it wasn'tmuch, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my lifethat have been there every step of the way," Underwood wrote.
