HYDERABAD: India blanked Ukraine 5-0 to record their second successive win in their Group B match of the Sudirman Cup badminton at Guangzhou, China, here on Tuesday. India, who whipped Australia 4-1 in the opening match, saw the new and inexperienced women’s doubles pair of Shruti Kurien and Aparna Balan score their first international win, when they routed Larisa G - riga and Elena Prus 21-7, 21-14.

Sanave Thomas and Rupesh Kumar demolished Vitaly Konov and Dmytgro Zayadsky 21-14, 21-6 in 21 minutes in the first match. Saina Nehwal continued her good form defeating Mariya Diptan 21-18, 21-9 in 22 minutes.

India fielded Arvind Bhat instead of Chetan Anand in men’s singles, who finished off Valerry Atrashchenkov 21-16, 21-11 to help his team take a commanding 3-0 lead. Then Shruti and Aparna made it 4-0.

World number 10 V Diju and Jwala Gutta completed the rout with a 21-15, 22-20 over Dmytro Zavadsky and Mariya Diptan in 25 minutes. India next meet Scotland on Wednesday.
