Karunuday stuns Jeevan in straight sets

Eighth-seed Karunuday Singh shocked second-seed Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in straight sets and advanced to the semifinals of the MPTA-ITF Men’s Futures at the SDAT Tennis Stadium on Thursday. Without any hassles he ousted Nedunchezhiyan 6-3, 6-3. Prajnesh Gunneswaran, N.Sriram Balaji and Vijayant Malik complete the semifinal line-up.

Tamil Nadu Clinch Volleyball Double

Tamil Nadu girls and boys emerged champions in the St Joseph’s College of Engineering–21st Mini National Volleyball Championship. In the boys final, Tamil Nadu beat UP 25-23, 25-20, 25-15. In the girls segment Tamil Nadu defeated West Bengal 25- 21, 25- 23, 25-11 to bag the crown.

Ganapathy-Varun Champions

KC Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar comprehensively won (10 pts) the Chennai Super Kings Open Coastal National Championship. Ganapathy and Varun were in great form and finished ahead of the fleet in both the races held on Thursday with a considerable lead.
