NEW DELHI: The Rajasthan Cricket Association and Indian Premier League team Rajasthan Royals together owe nearly Rs 4.5 crore to the state police towards security arrangements during cricket matches.

An RTI reply from the Rajasthan Police states that dues towards Secretary, Rajasthan Cricket Association are 3.98 crore while the IPL team owned by Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra owe Rs 50.99 lakh.

The reply provided to activist Subhash Agrawal says Rajasthan Cricket Association used the services of the state police for Champions Trophy matches in 2006 for which Rs 1.14 crore, for a one-day match between India South Africa on February 21, 2010, Rs 17.87 lakh, for IPL matches in 2010, Rs 83.60 lakh, for one-day match between India-New Zealand on December 1, 2010, Rs 2.22 lakh, and for IPL matches in 2011, Rs 1.79 crore are pending.

The reply says all the dues towards Rajasthan Royals are for security arrangements of IPL teams during the 2011 series.

"The dues towards RCA and Rajasthan Royals is total Rs 4.49 crore excluding the interest," the reply from Rajasthan Police said.
