Fixing law needs change

The sports ministry has sought extensive changes in the proposed anti-fixing prepared by the Law ministry. The sports ministry that received the draft copy of the proposed bill on Monday is likely to send it back to the law ministry as it found several lacunae. "We have received the draft. But the proposed law needs extensive modification. We are making the required modifications in the proposed draft," sports ministry secretary PK Deb said.

Sources said the law seemed to be prepared in hurry and needed several changes. Law minister Kapil Sibal-led law ministry had prepared the draft of antifixing law after fixing scandal broke out in the IPL
