VISAKHAPATNAM: The world’s largest enterprise software company, Oracle (India) today signed an agreement with Gitam University to establish Oracle Knowledge Centre for MBA students at Gitam Institute of Management.

Head of the Oracle India Private Limited, Education wing, Anand Kapai and Gitam University Registrar PM Valli signed the MoU in the presence of Vice-Chancellor M Gangadhara Rao.

According to Anand, the centre is first of its kind in the country. Besides the knowledge centre, Oracle will also start an Oracle Work Force Development Program (WDP) for Gitam engineering students. The Work Force Development initiative of Oracle aims at developing students to bridge the gap between their academic learning and industry demands.

The program will give students an exposure to e-business suite and create path in all verticals of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) will help the institution to address few required skill sets of the industry.

The present offer will also help Gitam students to learn over 1,700 courses of Oracle, including Oracle Financial, CRM, HRMS, SCM, People Soft Enterprise, JD Edwards Enterprise One and World, Siebel, Demantra and G-Log. These products will improve the student skills for securing jobs internationally.

While signing the MoU, Gangadhara Rao said that recently IBM had signed an MoU to establish a centre for excellence in Gitam University. The Vice-Chancellor said that Gitam students and faculty have an opportunity to learn new skills, sharpen existing ones, and take advantage of thousands of web-based classes.

University principals K Sivarama Krishna and N Laxmana Das were also present.
