NELLORE: Narthana is not my daughter and I have nothing to do with her, Arun Kumar, former husband of Nagachaitanya, has said.

Speaking with mediapersons in the presence of superintendent of police E Damodar here today, Arun Kumar said that he was married to Nagachaitanya in 2005 but she left him within days stating that she could no longer stay in the village.

“She became pregnant later but I did not father Narthana,’’ he asserted.

Nagachaitanya’s father Purshotham Rao, a retired RTC employee, who too was present at the press meet, said that his daughter was mentally ill and was suffering from a psychological disorder.

In the past she had been given treatment for her illness, he claimed.

The SP said that the girl was being treated at a hospital in Chennai and hoped that she would recover soon.

The Rathnam Educational Society came forward to bear the cost of the girl’s education. She would be kept in an ashram here and taken care of on her return to Nellore, he said.

The monster mother, with the help of her paramour Nagesh, branded and thrashed the 6-year-old Narthana when the innocent girl saw her mother’s flirtations with Nagesh and revealed it to others.
