HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan today accepted the resignation of Agriculture Minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy.

Reddy put in his papers after his term as MLC ended last month.

The resignation was accepted by the Governor after it was recommended by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, official sources said this evening.

Vivekananda Reddy, a younger brother of the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, is the ruling Congress candidate in the by-election at Pulivendula assembly constituency.

The Chief Minister had earlier asked him to continue in office.

The bypolls for Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies became necessary after Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and his mother Vijayalakshmi quit as an MP and an MLA respectively.
