Sarve to strive for SC categorisation

Express News Service

The newly-appointed Union minister of state for road transport and highways Sarve Satyanarayana has vowed to persuade the Centre to enact a law to categorise the Scheduled Castes in the state.

The Union minister, who returned to the city on Friday for the first time after assuming charge of his ministry, called on his mother Mallamma at Domalguda here on Saturday for taking her blessings.

Later, he garlanded the statues of Dr BR Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram near the Tank Bund and Basheerbagh respectively. He said being a member of the Madiga community, he would strive hard to get the nod of the Union government for categorisation of SCs, a long-standing demand of the people of his community.

He said that he would continue to exert pressure on the Congress high command for state’s bifurcation.
