Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu wants his party leaders to adopt the “Kuppam formula” to win majority seats in the next Assembly elections.
Naidu made a PowerPoint presentation to his Lok Sabha constituency in-charges on the “Kuppam model” here on Wednesday.
According to sources, he explained that there were Assembly segment, mandal, village, ward and booth level committees for the party in Kuppam which was represented by him. Any information or decision taken by the party would immediately percolate to the booth-level worker in Kuppam. The leaders of all committees were regularly in touch with the people in Kuppam. That was why Kuppam became a strong citadel of the TDP, Naidu explained.
He wanted the party leaders to adopt the Kuppam model in all other Assembly constituencies. This would, according to Naidu, help the party win a majority seats in Assembly elections. Naidu further stated that the party was strong in Kuppam as it was built up by local leaders.
Naidu never campaigned for himself in Kuppam in the last six elections as he was busy with electioneering in other segments. Naidu also distributed small booklets to party leaders explaining the Kuppam model.
Meanwhile, Naidu wanted the party leaders to explain to the public that TDP was in favour of separate Telangana and adopted a resolution to that effect at the Mahanadu. He reminded them that the party sent two letters to the central government indicating the party’s pro-Telangana stand. “But, party and leaders failed to spread this message across Telangana region,” he regretted.
Naidu said that the TRS was limited to Telangana and the YSRCP to Andhra. “TDP, strong everywhere, is the only alternative to the Congress and can form the next government,” he claimed.
Naidu said that all the leaders should take forthcoming local body polls seriously and warned that serious action would be taken against those who did not work for the party candidates.
Coordinators of Adilabad, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Zaheerabad, Medak, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda and Bhongir Lok Sabha constituencies attended the meeting.
Naidu is holding meetings with coordinators of 10 Lok Sabha constituencies every day. The meetings will conclude on June 8.
