CBI court issues notices to Sabita, Dharmana

Acting on the petition moved by the CBI seeking judicial custody of former ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy and  Dharmana Prasada Rao in the YS Jaganmohan Reddy disproportionate assets case, the CBI special court on Monday issued notices to both the leaders.

The court also issued another notice to Dharmana in the VANPIC case. The court posted the matter relating to the assets case to June 12, whereas the VANPIC case has been posted for June 13.

The court has issued notices asking Sabitha and Dharmana to furnish details of their media statements. The CBI counsel on June 7 filed two memos seeking judicial remand of Sabitha Reddy and Dharmana citing media reports and clippings wherein they claimed innocence and vowed to come out clean.

The CBI cited that the two ministers’ statements to assert that they could influence witnesses if not taken into judicial custody.
