TDP To boycott 'tainted' ministers

Express News Service

Upping the ante against “tainted” ministers, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu said Monday that his party would boycott them in the Assembly.

“We won’t allow tainted ministers to give replies to  questions posed by the Opposition in the Assembly. Henceforth, we are boycotting them. We will continue our fight against them till they resign,” Naidu said.

Speaking to reporters, the TDP chief demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy sack the remaining tainted ministers from the Cabinet.

Stating that Kiran Reddy’s government had lost the right to rule the State as it was unable to address the problems of the people, Naidu said his party was contemplating a no-trust motion against the government in the ongoing session of the Assembly.

“We are ready to move a no-trust motion against the government on issues relating to people. But we are against moving the motion for the sake of some political parties, which want to use the opportunity to strike a deal with the ruling party,” Naidu said.

Naidu along with his party leaders called on Governor ESL Narasimhan on Monday evening at the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to him over the allegations against the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).

Seeking action against the APPSC members, whose names figured in the alleged scam of selling jobs, the TDP chief requested the head of the state to direct the government to overhaul the APPSC so as to restore the faith of unemployed youth in it.
