Sleuths search every inch for over nine hours

CBI sleuths raided the posh Jubilee Hills residence of former union minister of state for coal and veteran film director Dasari Narayana Rao here Tuesday and seized incriminating documents relating to the coal scam.

The team, led by a deputy superintendent, arrived in 10 vehicles and searched his residence on road no 46, Jubilee Hills besides his office, Saubhagya Media, at road no 31, Jubilee Hills, the residence of his daughter in Madhapur and his Safari Farm House in Moinabad. The CBI officials had already quizzed Dasari in the past.

After the sleuths went inside his residence, mediapersons stayed put outside and some curious passersby tried to scale the compound wall to see what’s going on. Actress Lakshmi Manchu made a surprise visit but wasn’t allowed inside. 

The CBI officials left Rao’s residence around 3.30 p.m after more than nine hours. One of them told the waiting media they had seized “important” documents. But he refused to elaborate further.
