Congress, TDP clash

Express News Service

Congress and TDP members  clashed on the floor of the Assembly over personal allegations and used words of their choices to abuse each other.

The trouble started when Congress member from Kakinada Rural Kurasala Kanna Babu, who contested on the PRP ticket, while speaking on the welfare demands diverted the issue and started targeting senior TDP leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu. He alleged that Muddukrishnama, who was earlier in the Congress, used to abuse leader of the opposition and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and, after defecting to the TDP, was abusing Congress leaders and government programmes. An angry Muddukrishnama Naidu retorted: “I don’t have to learn from the leader of a party (PRP) which has sold itself for political gain.” He said Kanna Babu, who originally belonged to the PRP founded by Union minister K Chiranjeevi, had no moral right to criticise him as his leader(Chiranjeevi), who came into politics to destroy Congress merged his party with that party.

Kanna Babu asked Muddukrishnama to withdraw the comments made against Chiranjeevi. The drama lasted for about 20 minutes.
