Notice to government on fish medicine

Express News Service

The AP Lokayukta issued notices to the state government and other authorities concerned on Monday to respond on a complaint lodged by Balala Hakkula Sangham which opposes government’s support to distribution of fish medicine by Bathini Haranath Goud to asthma patients in the city on June 8 and 9.

While dealing with the complaint given by Achyuta Rao, president of AP Balala Hakkula Sangham, the Lokayukta said that the action of the government in permitting such conglomeration at a public place and allotting land not for any public purpose came within the ambit of maladministration and was an aspect triable under the Lokayukta Act.

The Lokayukta called for reports on the aforesaid aspects from the principal secretary (revenue), Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district collectors and the city police commissioner by June 3.

Achyuta Rao, in his petition, questioned the government’s helping hand when Bathini Haranatha Goud was willing to give some fish medicine and the people gathered voluntarily as a conglomeration.
