Maoists did no wrong: Gadar

Express News Service

Supporting the Maoists for the recent massacre in Chhattisgarh, ballader Gadar on Wednesday said such actions (of Maoists) would repeat till the government stops suppression in the name of Operation Green Hunt.

Gadar, who came to the district to unveil the statue of Paritala Sriramulu at Yeguvapalle panchayat of Ramagiri mandal on Wednesday, said that there is no wrong in the Maoists resorting to such acts. ‘’As long as the governments try to suppress the Maoist movement with acts like Operation Green Hunt, the Maoists will resort to such incidents,’’ he said.

Addressing a public meeting, Gadar said the government should take steps for conceding the demands of Maoists instead of resorting to provocative steps, which results in such (Chattisgarh-like) incidents.

However, Gadar expressed regrets over the death of innocent persons in the attack. ‘’It is unfortunate that some innocent people, who are not at all the targets of Maoists are losing their lives in such incidents,’’ he added.

He unveiled the statue of slain communist party leader Paritala Sriramulu, who fought against landlords. Gadar also offered floral tributes at the ghat of TDP leader Partila Ravi.

Sriramulu, who took up struggles for facilitating rights to poor on land was murdered in 1975.
