Vijayashanthi gives Rs 1 crore for Railway line

TRS MP from Medak, Vijayashanthi, presented a cheque for Rs 1 crore from her constituency development fund to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy here on Wednesday.

She wanted the amount to be utilised for the construction of railway line between Medak and Akkannapalle. The 17-km track would cost Rs 140 crore, to be borne equally by the Centre and the state. The cheque was handed over to the railway authorities.

The MP urged the chief minister to take the initiative to develop the Mallannaceruvu tank bund in her constituency and take steps for the completion of the hospital building at Patancheru, which has been held up for want of funds to the tune of `2 crore.

She said the chief minister promised to consider her requests. The chief minister even complimented her for bringing pressure on him to complete the works, which are in public interest, she said.
