TIRUPATI: India has preached to the world Dharmic values for centuries and there is an urgent need to impart these values to our students,” TTD executive officer D Sambasiva Rao said here on Monday.
He was addressing a meeting of language teachers from various schools in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, organised by the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP) at SVETA Bhavan for improving Subhapradam and Sadacharam programmes. He said TTD communication channels like SVBC and Sapthagiri magazine can be used to take the programmes to more number of students.
Earlier, Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar said there is good response from students for the week-long Subhapradham summer classes. All projects special officer N Muktheswara Rao said there is a need to correlate with contemporary issues while narrating stories from puranas to attract students. The syllabus will be designed with the help of Ramakrishna Mission, Chinmaya Mission, Saraswathi Vidyalaya, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan and other institutions, he said. Some teachers offered suggestions to improve the twin programmes. A Telugu teacher at a private school in Kurnool said there is need to use more technical aids while teaching morals. “Distribute the lessons in the form of CDs,” he said.
Another teacher said a pre-selection exam may be conducted on Dharmic issues and the students who excel in the programme may be given exclusive training. HDPP Secy Prayaga Ramakrishna spoke. HDPP deputy EO Dhananjayulu, Epic Studies special officer Damodar Naidu and others were present.
