RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM:  SC/ST Commission chairman Karem Shivaji on Saturday said the state government would take a decision on his appointment as the body’s chairman soon. The remark comes in the wake of the High Court’s ruling that his appointment was unlawful.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said the High Court pointed out technical and procedural lapses in his appointment as commission chairman and had not made any personal attacks.

He said the government would take a suitable decision after a copy of the judgment was received.
The matter was discussed with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday and the CM will never do injustice to SC/ST communities, he said.

Shivaji went on to claim that SC/ST communities felt the Chief Minister’s decision to appoint a person belonging to the category as chairman was a “gift”.

Lambasting Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, the chairman alleged the YSRC president was responsible for the court taking exception to the appointment. He said the SC/ST community wouls teach Jagan a lesson for hampering the development of the state with his political gimmicks.
