HYDERABAD: A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday directed the Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association headed by Guntur TDP MP Galla Jayadev to submit the records pertaining to association election held on April 4, 2015.

“How election was conducted to a society in 2015 when it was registered in 2016?,” the High Court asked. The bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice J Uma Devi was dealing with a petition filed by JC Pavan Reddy, general secretary of the State Olympic Association and son of TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy, challenging the decision of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) recognising the association headed by Jayadev as genuine. He claimed that the association which was established in 1960 was the original one.

The bench was also dealing with another petition filed by Krishna district olympic association challenging the action of Indian Olympic Association in issuing letters in 2015 recognising and affiliating the respondent association as member of the IOA.The counsel appearing for Pavan Reddy submitted though several representations were made to the IOA requesting to recognise the old association as genuine, but there was no response to it.
