SRIKAKULAM: A jolly trip to Maddhuvalasa reservoir in Srikakulam district turned tragic for a group of youngsters on Wednesday afternoon, as two of them were feared to have drowned after they jumped into the water to beat the summer heat. 


According to police, a group of five youth from the nearby villages in Vizianagaram district went to the reservoir at Maddhuvalasa, bordering Vizianagaram and Srikaulam districts.     


As the mercury levels were soaring, three members of the group plunged into the 90-feet deep reservoir to beat the heat.


Saripalli Dileep Kumar (22), a resident of Galavili village in Balijapeta manal and Duppalavalasa Ramana (24) from Hyderabad were feared to have drowned, while Saripalli Suneel was rescued by his two friends. 
Upon information, police and revenue officials rushed to the spot and conducted searches for the youngsters.
