VIJAYAWADA: Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy, who had announced to quit his MP post peeved over not getting water to Chagallu reservoir in his native Tadipatri, has made an about-turn.

He said since Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has ensured waters to his constituency including Chagallu reservoir, he decided not to resign. “He promised me to do everything to help develop my Anantapur parliamentary constituency. There is no need to quit the post any more,” he told reporters at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Friday.

The MP visited the IGC to meet the Chief Minister and discuss development issues pertaining to his parliamentary constituency.

Asked to comment on YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s proposed ‘Padayatra’ from October, he laughed and sarcastically said it is not possible for him to take out the Padayatra.  “He has to appear before the CBI special court every Friday. How would he get time for the Padayatra.

Perhaps, he has to hire a helicopter or a special flight to travel from court to wherever he had to interrupt his Padayatra,” he said. Describing himself as a “well-wisher” of Jagan, he said he advised Jagan, who is son of his dear friend Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, to quit politics. “Let him manage his industries or whatever and lead a calm life with his family,” he said.
