A 45-year-old from East Godavari district working with a road construction contractor in Sukuma district of Chhattisgarh, who was kidnapped by Maoists on April 14, was found murdered on Monday.

KAKINADA: A 45-year-old from East Godavari district working with a road construction contractor in Sukuma district of Chhattisgarh, who was kidnapped by Maoists on April 14, was found murdered on Monday.

According to police, the victim identified as Bala Nageswara Rao alias Kasulu hails from Banapuram village in I Polavaram mandal of East Godavari district. Two days ago, he along with two others was kidnapped by Maoists between Faidagudam and Dharampenta villages after they set ablaze a truck used for road construction work there.

On Monday, his body was found near a Kasaram rivulet under Kistaram Police Station limits. His face was badly smashed with a stone. Kistaram police have registered a case and sent the body for postmortem. Meanwhile, East Godavari Police are trying to get in touch with Rao’s family to inform them about the death.
