KURNOOL: A newborn female baby was found abandoned in a cement bag at a waste plant site near Raghavendra Theatre in Veldurti mandal headquarters on Tuesday.
Passers-by noticed the baby crying and tried to find out the whereabouts of the parents, but in vain. They immediately alerted the police and child protection and welfare department officials. “The baby was shifted to Kurnool child care centre,” Veldurti SI Narsimhulu said.
