MP Ramesh begins indefinite hunger stir

KADAPA: TDP MP C M Ramesh began his indefinite fast on the premises of Zilla Parishad office here on Wednesday demanding that the Centre establish a steel plant in the district as mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act. Extending solidarity to the MP’s fast, MLC Mareddy Ravindranath Reddy alias BTech Ravi also sat on fast.

Ministers C Adinarayana Reddy, Nakka Ananda Babu and Sidda Raghava Rao, former Union minister for Steel A Sai Prathap and TDP district president R Srinivas Reddy visited the fast camp.

Addressing the gathering, Ramesh said that the Telugu Desam Party had aligned with the BJP after getting an assurance that all the promises mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act would be fulfilled, but in vain. The MP vowed to continue his fast till the Centre announces the establishment of steel plant in Kadapa district.

Meanwhile,  YSRCMLA Rachamallu Siva Prasad Reddy began his two-day fast on the issue while the relay hunger strike being staged by the Left party activists entered 350th day on Wednesday.
