TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) launched India’s first AI-integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) at Vaikuntam Queue Complex, alongside a new Pilgrim Amenities Complex (PAC-5) Venkatadri Nilayam on Thursday.

The inauguration by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and Vice-President of India CP Radhakrishnan, marks a transformative step in enhancing crowd management, safety, and cyber resilience for pilgrims at Sri Venkateswara temple.

The ICCC, a pioneering initiative funded by NRI philanthropists in a pro bono public-private model, integrates cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Digital Twin Map.

Inspired by IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s Silicon Valley visit in October 2024, the ICCC leverages over 6,000 AI-powered cameras, processing 3,60,000 payloads per minute, 518 million events, and generating 2.5 billion real-time inferences daily.

Powered by Kloudspot Inc and NVIDIA’s high-performance computing, the ICCC offers real-time crowd prediction, 3D congestion visualisation, and cyber threat monitoring, setting a global benchmark for temple ecosystems.

The ICCC optimises Sarva Darshanam wait time, enhances safety with facial recognition for missing persons, and provides automated distress alerts, and guided evacuation routes. Its immersive Digital Twin Maps flag congestion zones, and streamline queue management, while unified dashboards enable 24/7 monitoring by trained staff.

Additionally, the ICCC fortifies the TTD’s digital assets against misinformation and cyber threats, ensuring a secure, and seamless pilgrimage experience.

The Chief Minister directed officials to increase darshan capacity from 4,500 to 5,500 pilgrims per hour, and display spiritual content in queue complexes to foster devotion.

Complementing the ICCC, the Rs 102-crore Venkatadri Nilayam was inaugurated to provide free accommodation for up to 4,000 pilgrims arriving without booking. Featuring 16 dormitories, 2,400 lockers, 24/7 hot water, and a Kalyana Katta for tonsure ceremonies, the facility ensures comfort and convenience.

Two expansive dining halls accommodate 1,400 pilgrims simultaneously, while AI-based sorting machines enhance prasadam quality, and production efficiency.

During the inauguration, Naidu handed over the first accommodation token to a devotee, and inspected a waste collection machine, emphasising cleanliness and sustainability.

The Chief Minister stressed the need for maintaining Tirumala’s pristine environment, directing the ICCC to monitor litter, and ensure over 90% green cover across the Seven Hills.

The Chief Minister also instructed the integration of all TTD-managed temples with the ICCC for centralised monitoring, and to prohibit restricted items at Alipiri using real-time heat maps and CCTV analytics.
