CM to open Kanakadasa memorial buildings today

Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar will unveil a statue of saint-poet Kanaka Dasa and inaugurate the renovated Kanakadasa Kote (palace) at Bada village of Shiggaon taluk in the district at 3 pm on Sunday.

He will also inaugurate Kanaka Sabha Bhavan, Kanakadasa burial ground, Kanaka Yatri Nivas, Kanakadasa welcome arch and other development works at Kaginele village of Byadgi taluk at 4 pm on the same day.

Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa, Public Works and District In-Charge Minister C M Udasi, Ministers Basavaraj Bommai and Varthur Prakash, Haveri MP Shivakumar Udasi, Leader of Opposition in Assembly Siddaramaiah and Dharwad MP Prahlad Joshi will be chief guests on the occasion. 

Byadgi MLA Sureshgouda Patil will preside over the function.

District MLAs, MLCs and elected representatives will be guests of honour, according to Deputy Commissioner H G Srivara.
