No rift with Parameshwara: Siddaramaiah

Express News Service

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting held here on Tuesday reportedly discussed at length whether Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara are at loggerheads after the party came to power in the state.

Siddaramaiah, who is also the CLP leader, had convened the meeting. Taking note of Parameshwara’s absence at the meeting for the second consecutive time, senior party leader M V Rajashekharan reportedly quizzed Siddaramaiah on the issue.

He reportedly observed that Parameshwara’s absence may send wrong signals stating that all is not well in the party. He also wanted to know from the CM whether there are any differences between them.

Noting that both were sharing the party forum without fail on such occasions, Rajashekharan reportedly remarked they are not seen together of late. Siddaramaiah is learnt to have said that he is in touch with Parameshwara on all party matters regularly.

The CM, who is also the CLP leader, reportedly advised the MLAs to air their grievances, if any, openly in the meeting. Madhugiri MLA K N Rajanna complained that most of the new ministers are not responsive to the party MLAs.

Srinivaspur MLA and senior party leader reportedly urged Siddaramaiah to direct his ministers to be present in the House.

“If the concerned ministers remained in the House, the Opposition boycott on the issue of ministers absence in the House could have been prevented,” Kumar reportedly told the meeting.

Many legislators reportedly appealed to Siddaramaiah to release funds for their constituencies to address the drinking water crisis and development works.
