Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav who was on a one-day visit to the State met his Karnataka counterpart Siddaramaiah as a courtesy call at Vidhana Soudha here on Thursday.
After addressing business leaders earlier in the day, he said Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s appointment as chief campaigner of BJP for the coming Lok Sabha elections will not have any positive impact in his state for the saffron party. He maintained that people of his state had always backed secular parties such as Samajawadi Party.
Replying to questions on the possibilities of emerging as the Third Front after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the UP Chief Minister said that Indians are looking for a political force bereft of both Congress and the BJP.
On the prospects of Samajwadi Party in the coming general election, Yadav expressed confidence of winning more seats in the next Lok Sabha polls.
