The news of Naragund MLA C C Patil being injured by a bullet has created a flutter across the state.

The incident is being said to be the result of the  tug-of-war between the KJP and the BJP.

The speech made by Patil prior to the incident is said to be the reason for all the turn of events.

CC Patil after inaugurating Alur Venkatrao Smarak bhavan in Holealur moved towards Menasagi even after his followers warned him of the backlash from some of his partymen.

But Patil moved ahead and even declared in his speech at Menasagi village that he would contest next Assembly poll from the BJP.

This declaration  is said to have enraged his rivals who gheraoed him. There was a verbal clash and in the melee, Patil’s gunman took his gun to disperse the mob, which went off accidentlly, sources said.

Patil, who is known as one of the Yeddyurappa loyals is believed to be on the verge of leaving the BJP.

It is being said that when his opponents heard that he would remain in the BJP they could not tolerate it and managed to attack him.

Even after being shot, Patil by himself sat in the ambulance, asked his driver to move towards the hospital and asked his followers to maintain peace.
