Bharatiya Janata Party held an introspection meeting to find out reasons for its poor performance in the May 5 Assembly polls here on Tuesday.

The meeting, which was attended by in-charge of Karnataka affairs Thawar Chand Gehlot, discussed in detail what went wrong from its side in the election.

The meeting decided to revamp taluk and district-level committees and also the executive committee following completion of three years tenure. The new members would be selected after holding another meeting of district party chiefs. Basically, Monday’s meeting was aimed at taking stock of the situation and the party’s strategy for the short session of the State Legislature which begins from Wednesday.

A membership drive would be launched soon to keep the brigade ready for the parliamentary polls, said a leader. Former CMs Jagadish Shettar and D V Sadananda Gowda were present.
