Jarkiholi gifts footwear to supporter

Express News Service

Habib Killedar, a social  worker from Ambadgatti village, who is a strong supporter of Excise and Belgaum District In-Charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi, had taken an oath six years ago that he will not wear footwear till his ‘God Father’ (Jarkiholi) does not become a Minister.

On Tuesday, Satish Jarkiholi, who recently took oath as a Minister, offered a new pair of footwear to Habib.

Habib told Express that he was depressed when the BJP started ruling the state and Jarkiholi, though elected from the Yamakanamaradi constituency as a Congress candidate, could not become a Minister.

He decided on that day not to wear chappals (footwear) till Jarkiholi becomes a minister.

Habib said he toured several cities and towns bare foot and was proud to tell people about his oath when he was enquired.

Habib said that this time he was confident Congress would come to power and Jarkiholi would become a minister.

Minister Jarkiholi presented him a pair of new chappals (footwear) and also felicitated him with a shawl.
