BENGALURU: Hemant Nimbalkar (DIG, CID) who cracked the case of Mehdi Masroor Biswas, the alleged handler of a pro-ISIS Twitter account, is among the eight IPS officers who will be conferred the President’s medal during Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi.
Also, 36 other police officials will receive the honour.
The latest sporting star of the Police department, IGP and Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration) Bengaluru, B N S Reddy, will also receive the medal for distinguished service. Reddy became the first person from South India and second Indian to win a gold medal at the World Police and Fire Games held in the US recently. He won a gold in the men’s 55 singles tennis event.
