Actress Rama to get Ranga Siri Award

DHARWAD: Theatre, film and television actress R T Rama has been chosen for this year’s ‘Ranga Siri’ award to be conferred on the occasion of ‘World Stage Artistes’ Day’ here on Friday.

Rama, a character artiste, graduated from the National School of Drama in New Delhi and is a recipient of the Kannada Rajyotsava award. She will receive `5,000 and a memento.

Ranga Parisara president Vithal Koppad told reporters here on Sunday that a five-day mythological drama fest will be organised in memory of Hindustani vocalist Pandit Basavaraj Mansur, the elder brother of Dr Mallikarjun Mansur, at the Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha auditorium from Monday.
