MYSURU: With Janata Dal (secular) party improving its tally in Mysuru district in the recently concluded assembly elections, the district has been showered with goodies in the annual outlay tabled by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday.
The neighbouring Chamarajanagar district too has been tad benefitted, only on health and tourism front, rendering it largely neglected for the reasons best known to those at the helm of affairs.
In Mysuru alone, it has been proposed to set up silk cocoon market with initial funding of Rs one crore for the same, followed by frozen semen distribution centre (along with Dharwad and Kalaburagi) at the cost of Rs 2.25 crore, super-speciality hospitals in Mysuru along with Belagavi and Kalaburagi and also 450-bed new hospitals at Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, along with the colleges at Hassan, Gadag and Koppal at the cost of Rs 200 crore, development of Bharachukki falls in Chamarajanagar and ICB chips and boards manufacturing unit in Mysuru.EOM/ Sreekantswamy B
