HASSAN: Two persons died under mysterious circumstances near Pushpagiri hill in Halebid police limits late night on Friday. Police recovered the bodies which were gutted inside a car on Saturday. The police are suspecting that the incident might have taken place in connection with illegal relationship. The police have shifted the bodies to HIMS hospital in Hassan for the postmortem. The killers may murdered them elsewhere and brought them in a vehicle to Pushpagiri hill where they set the vehicle ablaze. 

Interestingly, the Hyundai i-10 in which the police recovered the gutted bodies has no number plate. The miscreants have escaped in another vehicle after setting the vehicle ablaze, it is said. The police is also suspecting that the miscreants have murdered Sandhya of Karkala town in Dakshina Kannada and Girish of Belur in Hassan district following the missing complaints against them at Karkala police station. 
According to the police, Girish was running a bakery in Karkala town since a couple of years.

Miraculous escape for two after car goes up in flames
Udupi: Two people travelling in a car had a miraculous escape after their car went up in flames on the National Highway 66 in Brahmavar here late evening on Friday. Karthik, the owner of Hyundai i20 car, along with another person, was driving from Udupi to Kundapur when the incident took place. When they reached near Brahmavar, Karthik sensed some smell emanating from the car engine. He stopped his car and found that the battery had caught fire. Karthik immediately called the fire personnel. It took at least half an hour for them to reach the spot. By then, the car was completely charred.
