KALABURAGI: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge has lauded his father Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC president, stating that despite the erstwhile Nizam’s Razakars burning his (Mallikarjun Kharge’s) house in 1948 and killing his mother and sister, he never used this incident for political gains.

Replying to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s remarks that Mallikarjun Kharge is silent on the death of his mother and sister in the Razakars’ attack as he feared losing Muslim votes, Priyank Kharge posted on social media that his father could become a legislator in the state for nine times, MP twice, RS member and Union minister once, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and AICC president now without cashing in on this tragedy.

He said that his father never played the victim card or never spread hatred to become what he is now. It was the Razakars of the then Nizam, who committed this act and not the entire Muslim community. One can’t blame a community for the wrong deeds of some of its individuals.

Yogi Adityanath cannot bulldoze the principles followed by Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyank stated.

At 82, Khargeji is fighting tirelessly to uphold the principles and values of Buddha, Basavanna and Ambedkar, and to protect the Constitution from those who hate it. He will continue his struggle against hatredness and divisive forces, Priyank said.
