CHIKKAMAGALURU: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara has informed the Legislative Assembly that the government will take an appropriate decision on incorporating the disposal of applications under Forms 50-53, which seeks regularisation of encroached government lands, into the official software system.
Replying to a question from Chikkamagaluru MLA H D Thammaiah regarding pending applications and issues with the Bagair Hukum software, Parameshwara, who is also revenue minister, stated that a provision for regularising unauthorised cultivation was made under Section 94 of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964. He added that applications submitted under proforma 50-53 were accepted for disposal on the government website from September 26, 2023, to January 21, 2024, and are currently pending at various stages.
The DyCM’s written reply also clarified that cases involving sanctioned land where cultivation deeds have been issued but not recorded in the khata are not being processed by the proforma 50-53 physical verification committee. As per Revenue Commissionerate directives, PDOs must first record such pending cases in the proforma 1-5 software before transferring them to the proforma-1 system.
Action must be taken to migrate these cases to the Bagair Hukum software for final recording in the khata. While details of ‘khatadars’ whose lands are already sanctioned and recorded are available in the proforma 1-5 software, cases involving Bagair Hukum lands that have been sanctioned but are awaiting khata entry and cultivation deed issuance remain unrecorded in the system, he added.
