THRISSUR: The Rashtriya Sanskrit University has conferred the honorary doctorate of Vachaspathi (D Lit) on Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University Vice-Chancellor K G Paulose.

The honour is in recognition of his scholarship in Sanskrit language and also for his efforts to revive the ancient Sanskrit Theatre, Kudiyattam. Chancellor of the University J B Patnaik conferred the degree at the 12th convocation held in Tirupathi the other day in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Harekrishna Satapathy and renowned Sanskrit scholar Ramaranjan Mukherjee.

Sitakanta Mahapatra (Orissa), M Narasimha chary and Kalyanb r at Chakraborthy (Bengal) also received the doctorate in the convocation, stated Kalamandalam sources.
