Bindu, 35,  of SS Bhavan, Kuzhiyam Kunnathukavala,  near Kundara, was found murdered in a deserted place near her house on Saturday around 7.30 p m.  The body of Anupama,7, the daughter of Omanakuttan Pillai-Sheeja couple, who were Bindu’s neighbours,  was retrieved from a pond near the house. Sheeja was rescued from the well of her house, while Omanakuttan Pillai made an attempt to commit suicide by hanging in his house. Both Omanakuttan Pilai and wife Sheeja are under police observation in connection with the murder. On Sunday,  a police team led by IG Vinson Paul, SP M.R. Ajithkumar, DySP Ramachandran Nair and Kundara CI Velayudhan Nair visited the place and conducted investigations. Forensic experts also visited the place.

The bodies of Bindu and Anupama were released to the relatives after conducting postmortem. Bindu’s husband Sivankutty had gone to Gulf a few months ago and she is survived by two children Saranya and Sarat.

According to police, Sheeja planned the murder of Bindu, who was running a small scale chitty business. Sheeja had borrowed Rs 30,000 from Bindu and the other day the latter had threatened that she would start a satyagraha in front of Sheeja’s house unless the money is paid back soon.  There are still no clues as to who committed the murder, the motive and the link between the murder and the drowning of the girl.
