KOCHI: Rear Admiral H C S Bisht assumed charge as Flag Officer Sea Training at the Southern Naval Command during a brief ceremony at the Naval Base on Friday. He was earlier Chief of Staff of Southern Naval Command.

Admiral Bisht was commissioned to the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer in July, 1979, and is a gunnery specialist. Admiral Bisht has also served as the Defence Attache to the High Commission of India, Singapore.

The Admiral has completed a number of important afloat appointments, which include the Command of the missile corvette - INS Kora, which he commissioned, and Command of INS Tabar.
